Dad.

Dad is awkward, but seems nice. No idea what he does, but I think he's generally off one day a week. At least his truck is still parked when I leave, and he is typically gone before me every morning. The day differs each week, though so I haven't figured it out yet. I'm working up a good story though.

For the longest time, every interaction we had was really weird and awkward. One morning he discovered my shower was leaking down through their ceiling. He texted and asked if I noticed anything, I said no but told him he was welcome to come check it out any time over the weekend because I would be gone. On Sunday once I returned, I asked if he found out what was going on and if it was okay to use the shower. He said the faucet was pulling away from the tub, and he had tried to caulk it but the caulk he tried was old and wouldn't work. He  was planning to go get more on Monday. I told him thanks for checking it out and asked if there was anything I could do to fix it. His witty response was "do you have any caulk?" I of course responded with no and he says "What kind of girl doesn't carry caulk in her purse?! Just kidding, that would be like me carrying lipstick in my wallet. Goodnight!" I laughed OUT LOUD and I'm pretty sure he could hear me. After that things have been less awkward which is nice!

He fixes everything around here constantly. If he doesn't work, he has a good excuse. He's also working on a garden in the backyard, and I'm going to beg for tomatoes once those make an appearance. Good thing we're on joking terms now!

I'm adding him to the prayer chain this week since Mom is gone and we are unsure of her return. Jesus, be near.
